Ruth has gained a wealth of experience having worked in the NHS for over 30 years. Most of this time has been working in IT, implementing small to large scale projects, bringing about change using IT, and providing IT services. Key to driving forward the success of SCR is the continued working with users at organisation and national level, to ensure changes implemented bring about real benefits to our users and ultimately the patient.
Hazel has an IT Training background, her career has been focused on the implementation of IT projects in both the private and public sector. She has gained qualifications in Institute of Personnel and Development; Software Development; ITIL; Software Testing and Requirements Engineering. Hazel commenced working for the Somerset Cancer Register in 2010 and has been fundamental in setting up the requirements analysis, software testing and training teams.
Paul has worked in both the private and public sector gaining experience in a range of web technologies, database platforms and integration/interfacing concepts. Paul has also gained his Mirth Integration certification, PRINCE2 and ITIL qualifications within that time as well as becoming a Microsoft Certified Professional. Paul Joined the SCR team in 2008 as a developer and became the Development Manager in 2013.
Roger has nearly 30 years of software development and support experience gained predominantly in large financial services organisations and mainly in project management roles. PRINCE2 and ITIL qualified, he has worked on the Somerset Cancer Register since 2010 when he joined the team as an IT Project Manager.
The SCR team includes Analysts, Developers, Testers, Trainers, Project Management and Customer Support. Between us all we have over 150 years experience working in healthcare, implementing systems and working with clinicians and users of IT systems.
We use an agile approach to design the SCR software, engage with users to inform our specifications and run Roadshows & Webinars to keep our customers up-to-date with key features and new releases. All major projects, including releases, are managed using formal project controls. Calls logged with our Customer Support team are handled by staff who have product knowledge. All calls are monitored to make sure a responsive service is provided to our customers.
